Signs of Love from Someone Special: Lessons from a Believer’s Journey

Being loved by someone special in one's life means experiencing a range of heartwarming and affirming behaviors. Love is expressed through actions that communicate value, care, and security. From spending quality time to offering thoughtful gestures, the ways in which love is shown can vary widely. This article explores these signs and draws on a believer's personal experience to highlight the transformative power of genuine love.

WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL LOVED?

Love from someone special can be seen in the smallest and largest actions, from giving undivided attention to making meaningful contributions. A loving person takes the time to learn about you, listens attentively, and shows genuine interest. They may touch, kiss, or say sweet words to demonstrate affection. They remember your preferences and go out of their way to make you feel valued, often surprising you with thoughtful gifts or acts of service.

Such a person invests in you, treating you with special care and giving you the extra effort needed to make you feel cherished. They discuss the future and their vision for together, showing their certainty and commitment to you. Openness, trust, and honesty are cornerstones in their relationship, highlighting a deep and genuine connection. They express their feelings, often emphasizing their love for you and your importance in their life.

BEING LOVED AND APPRECIATED

The most profound way to feel loved and appreciated is to have someone walk alongside you, to catch you when you fall, and to be there with you, offering guidance and support. A loving partner or friend will warn you when you take things too far, and they will appreciate when you show them your own truth. They will be honest with you, even when it’s difficult, and you can rely on their support and trust.

Being known and cherished by others is an essential part of a healthy relationship. Being a part of their life, just as they are a part of yours, can create a powerful bond. Trust is the foundation of any relationship, and being able to depend on one another is incredibly valuable. In this context, forgiveness and gratitude are central, similar to the relationship one has with God.

From a personal perspective, my journey with faith has been transformative. I remember the day my boss, who initially did not seem familiar, began to share with me about salvation and Jesus Christ. Over time, I began to see the impact of his belief on how he treated me and others. Spending lunch time together as a group, he would discuss Biblical foundations, helping me understand the depth of his faith and love for God.

A PRACTICAL EXAMPLE

One of the most profound examples of love in my life was the home cell leaders at my current church. They went above and beyond to care for me and my needs, making sure I felt valued and supported. One memorable instance was when an 86-year-old lady passed away, and the home cell leaders were in tears, showing their deep care and concern for each member of their cell.

On another occasion, if someone was not responsive for even a couple of days, the church leaders would call to check if everything was okay. This level of care and communication demonstrates the kind of relationship where Jesus is truly present, and His love is evident in the tangible fruits of the Spirit.

FAITH AND LOVE

The point of one's faith is not just for self but to connect with and love others. Evangelism is important, but living a Christ-like life and demonstrating love through actions is equally vital. Unfortunately, many believers spend a lot of time evangelizing, but very few witness to others through the simple and profound acts of love and kindness.

For instance, during difficult times, my husband and sons visited me at church. They wanted me to see the love and grace demonstrated there, while my losing a family member received no support from the church community. These experiences highlight the importance of extending love, just as Jesus did, to those who need it most.

Ultimately, the love from someone special in your life can lead to personal growth and a deeper understanding of oneself and God. When we experience love, we are better equipped to extend that same love to others, making the world a better place.

By living out these signs of love, we honor the love of Jesus and contribute to a more compassionate and loving world. This is the true essence of our faith and our journey towards becoming more like Him.
